Asus U33Jc-A1 13.3-inch Notebook - The bamboo lined notebook

Apart from colors, almost all laptops look alike these days. They are also mostly either plastic or metal, however, the Asus U33Jc-A1 takes a different approach to this by incorporating bamboo fiber into its design. This makes it look stunningly unique, while the cut of the design is straight and elegant. The bamboo fiber covers the back of the lid and the wrist pad along with the track-pad. This makes for a nicer grip when carrying and a more comfortable writing experience.

The Asus U33Jc-A1 uses a 13.3-inch display and is a bit thinner than the average 13-inch laptop. Its rounded chiclet-style keyboard is quite comfortable to use. Despite the bamboo wood covering, the track-pad is just as responsive. According to Asus the bamboo-fiber coverings have been specially treated so they won't buckle, warp or split as normal bamboo fiber would, making the laptop durable and tough. The overall experience is fantastic and completely different from the normal metal alloy and plastic encased laptop.

While the Asus U33Jc-A1 is a bit thicker than the usual 13-inch thin-and-light laptops it doesn't have an optical disc drive. However, the laptop has an NVIDIA GeForce 310M discrete graphics and Intel GMA HD integrated graphics so you can watch 720p HD movie files with ease, while the 500GB hard disk drive offers plenty of space. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i3 M370 processor and 4GB of DDR3 memory so you can run multiple office applications and even some light gaming. Other notable features include a USB3 port and Wireless Display that mirrors your laptop on a compatible HDTV. The laptop lasts for more than four hours thanks to the NVIDIA Optimus graphic switching technology and Asus technologies.

Overall, the Asus U33Jc-A1 is a great looking laptop with an awesome bamboo-clad casing. While it doesn't have an optical disc drive it makes up for it by delivering great performance with USB3 and Wireless Display support.
