The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA Netbook - Best in Value, Performance and Design

Asus has always been the top pick when it comes to mini laptops or netbooks, and if you ever had the chance of using one, it would be easy to see why. The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA netbook is currently the latest model in the market and it has topped the charts since its release.

When I said that it offers the best value, I didn't mean that it is the cheapest in the market. In fact this model is about $30-$60 more expensive that other competing netbooks. Nevertheless, the great features and outstanding performance of the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA netbook makes it worth every penny.

To name just a few features not found on your average netbook, this model comes with stereo speakers, 3 USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with an extraordinarily long battery life, where the battery can last up to 10 hours on a single charge. They keyboard is also very easy to use with its full-sized shift key.

The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA netbook sports the design of new shells (found in the 1008HA) finally free from the robust design of the previous generation of Asus netbooks. The new design is very simple and elegant. For me, one of the most important competitors of this model, the new mini-Toshiba. Nevertheless, the Toshiba Mini residue in terms of design (the projection of the battery behind the camera) and battery life. In addition, Asus has a lot more if it is proven to netbooks.

If you are looking at buyinga netbook, chances are you deciding between an Asus netbook, the Mini Toshiba, Samsung NC10, HP and Acer Aspire mini-series. If you prefer to design and color of some of these netbooks, you can choose a good reason for a competitor. Otherwise there is little reason for you not receive a netbook ASUS Eee PC 1005HA.

Mini Laptop Reviews - Asus Eee PC 1001P 10.1-Inch Netbook

The Asus Eee PC 1001P is a new mid-range netbook from Asus. It is a step lower than the very popular Asus 1005 series. Despite its smaller range of specs and features, the 1001 still pack a mean punch. It also helps that is has a oh-so-affordable price tag. Like all new netbook models, this model has an Intel N450 Atom processor (1.66Ghz). For memory, it has 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Then there is 160GB for storage.

The Asus Eee PC 1001P measures at around 10.31 x 7.01 x 1.2 inches in dimensions. It also has a variety of other features such as a set of stereo speakers (with HD audio CODEC), memory card reader. For connectivity, this netbook has 3 USB ports and 802.11b/g connectivity. This model doesn't come with Bluetooth but it wouldn't matter much as most of us seldom use that feature anyway. The 10.1-inch screen is a matte, LED back-lit display (1024 x 600 resolution). This significantly reduces glare when used under bright lighting conditions.

My all time favorite feature with Asus netbooks would have to be their long battery life. The Asus Eee PC 1001P can last up to 11 hours on a single charge, which is extremely impressive by any laptop standards. The keyboard was comfy and is as good as a netbook keyboard gets. There are also some interesting new elements in this model's design. Instead of the plain casing found on other Asus netbook models, the 1001P has fine-checkered patterns on its external casing. It gives is a touch of sophistication to its overall looks. In terms of structure, it sports Asus's famous seashell design. Despite packing in a whole lot of great features, the Asus Eee PC 1001P is extremely affordable. It is currently priced at just around $290 per unit.

What's the Difference Between a Netbook and a Laptop?

Although netbooks have been around for a couple of years, they are quite knew and unknown for most people. That's why many confuse them with laptops or try to find the differences between netbooks and laptops.

That's why in the rows below I'm going to explain to you what is the difference between a netbook and a laptop in a couple of short and easy to understand lines.

First of all, netbooks are like the tiny brothers of regular laptops. that's because they are lighter and smaller. While the average laptop has a 15.4" screen and weights around 4.5-5 pounds, the average netbook these days has a 10" screen and weight around 2.8 pounds. And since it has a smaller screen, it also has a smaller body and it's more compact and easier to carry around.

Then, netbooks come with smaller screens and usually smaller resolution. You might have already got that from the previous paragraph, but since netbooks are smaller, so are their screens. You can get them with displays between 7 to 12 inches, while laptops have displays between 12 to 19 inches, and there are only a handful of 12" versions.

Also, netbooks are more portable than laptops. Besides that size issue, they also come with better battery life. if you could expect and average 3 hours life from a 15.4" notebook, a standard 10" netbooks can easily give you these days 6 to 8 hours, with some even passing the 10 hours mark. and that's something a standard laptop can't offer you.

the bigger autonomy of netbooks is mostly due to the lower hardware they house. Yes, netbooks are meant to use low-consumption hardware that can only offer a limited amount of performances. they're good for basic every-day stuff, but when it comes to resources hungry applications or games, they can't take the challenge. Laptops on the other hand can even house ultra-per formant hardware, as there are bigger desktop-replacement devices with up to 3 hard-drives, Sli graphic cards and high end CPUs.

Last but not at all least, there's the price mater. A standard netbook goes for around $350 and offers a good 10" screen, decent hardware, good built low profile body and an autonomy of around 8 hours. You can get laptops for these money actually, but you'll end up with a big and bulky device with hardware not much better than what you can find in netbooks and very poor autonomy. A good laptop though runs for 600-800 bucks and high end versions could easily jump $2000. So, although there are differences in performances between laptops and netbooks, these differences are seen in their price tags.

So, as a conclusion, a netbook is like a sub-laptop. It has a screen, keyboard, touch-pad and most used ports and can offer enough power to run standard apps. It's also compact light and comes with a very good battery life for a very good price. laptops on the other hand are bigger and with a lower autonomy, but they can provide all the extra Netbook performance is missing.

There are other small details, and you can do more in this article about the difference between netbook and laptop computers.

What is the Difference Between a Netbook and a Laptop?

There are notebook, there are laptops, and there are netbooks. Many people are aware of this, but most people could not tell you difference between the three. The netbook is the baby of the bunch: younger, smaller and a lot less mature.

A netbook, simply put, is a smaller notebook computer. They are called "net" books because they are designed to access the internet. Although some can function the same as larger counterparts, many have only the features necessary for mobile communication and web browsing.

The other two members of the mobile computer family are not defined by their capabilities. Notebooks and laptops are classified strictly by their size. A laptop computer is the largest option. Its name means: a computer that you can sit on your lap. A notebook computer has a similarly simple definition: a computer the size of a writing notebook. Within their primary definition of notebook or laptop, these computers will vary in features, power and functionality.

Although the definition seems simple, there are few additional determinates besides being small and great for the internet. Netbooks are generally quite affordable. Some define a netbook as a smaller, lighter notebook that is under $500. Some computer manufacturers do not agree with this definition.

In order to remain low cost, net focused notebooks lack the power of their mobile cousins. They sometimes are unable to run the same operating systems as notebooks and desktops, and may not run certain programs. They will however run all the applications necessary to use the internet.

For many though, hey are not aware of the performance difference between a notebook and netbook until they use them. Some models do not include DVD or CD drives. Other users may notice that the little systems do not function as fast as their desktops and become discouraged.

Size, one of the strengths of the netbook, is possibly its greatest limitation. These tiny computers often do not have full size keyboards, which can be hard for adults to use. They also have tiny screens. Not everyone prefers trying to read an internet page on a 9 inch screen.

Although there are many options available today in computers, it shouldn't be daunting. To be honest, it really isn't that hard to understand the difference between a netbook and laptop. As long as you stick to your needs when it is your turn to buy your new mobile computer you will be happy with your choice.

What is the Difference Between Laptop and Netbook?

So what is the difference between laptop and netbook? A laptop (also called a notebook) is computer which has been designed to be made portable, featuring a screen hinged to a keyboard. A laptop includes a battery for portable power and a touchpad instead of a mouse for input.

Mini laptops (also called a netbook, subnotebook or ultraportables) take these ideas further still, creating a new market above handheld computers, smartphones and personal digital assistants. The primary characteristic of these are smaller size and weight, which are pretty similar to the average diary, as well as costing less than a standard laptop with prices starting at around £150, an excellent solution during the credit crunch!

Mini laptops aren't as powerful as bigger notebook computers, and lack the power for big, demanding programs as well as an optical disc drive - so no CDs or DVDs. None the less, connectivity is a central focus for netbooks. Internet downloads are quickly catching up on hard media products, so perhaps it's not such a loss.

In short, the difference between laptop and netbook is a netbook is smaller, lighter, cheaper (on the whole) and simpler.

New mini laptops are expected to sell in the region of 5.2 million units by the end of 2008, 8 million during 2009 and up to 50 million by 2012 - a ten fold growth. Industry analysts are torn whether or not subnotebooks will cannibalize the laptop market, some suggesting that a mere 10% market share will be taken. However, in this economic downturn, people will always look for cheaper products and with mini laptops available from £150-200, perhaps there is a big market after all.

So is it game over for the standard laptop and pc? Unlikely; whilst mini laptops can perform dozens of tasks to identical or similar standard of larger computers, they will (for the time being) be limited by battery size, processing power and storage space, the difference between laptop and netbook is pronounced enough not to make the former obsolete.

Furthermore, when using a computer over a prolonged period of time, it would make sense to use a bigger screen and a faster processor of a desktop replacement laptop or a PC, particularly for demanding programs' such as games.

And finally, similarly priced but laptops, of varying quality, are available for around £200-300 leading some industry analysts to believe that the consumer focus will be on functionality and not merely size and weight.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, mobile phone manufacturers and providers are tapping into the netbook market with the Samsung NC10, LG X110 and Carphone Warehouse launching the Webbook - a branded laptop made by Elonex. Vodafone has linked arms with Dell with its Inspiron Mini 9, offering 3G mobile broadband contracts. Orange have followed suit with by cosying up with Asus and the Eee PC 901.

The difference between laptops and netbooks may seem very vague, but there is certainly space for both to function. If you've got a laptop, even reading this on one, lift it up. Feel the weight of it. Ask yourself, do I need all this extra space? Would I be better off with something smaller and lighter - if the answers yes, browse around the site.

5 Myths about the parts Laptop DC Jack Repair

"If a power problem with the card must be replaced."

This is the site number that I hear from users, the repair took power. Many repair centers and large computer companies (Dell, Gateway, Acer, Toshiba, etc.), it will say that the only way a DC jack fix is to replace the entire motherboard. This is very complicated and simply not true. The DC jack can be safely and successfully removed and installed a new plug.

"Can I remove the plug?"

Thisis a common enough question I asked. It is impossible to do this, but you need the device, such as quality soldering iron (and tips), solder wick or pump, and a steady hand. I've heard people say, "Welding is easy." Welding can be easy, but the seam is usually the hardest part for most people. Even knowing where to look, and how to properly remove the cable without breaking moderation is a must. Many laptops, people trying to repair are notGet the old metal, and broke or ports on the motherboard for things like keyboards and touch pads.

If the DC jack, once repaired it will fail again.

This is true and false. quality DC power jack repair a laptop can last for life. At the same time you can go wrong again. Some laptops have a bad design or design errors that can not be changed and are likely to recur.

Epoxy and epoxy-like compounds should be used to strengthen the network connection.

L ' Problem with epoxy resin, is smothered surrounding circuit fault caused the motherboard. cross-components on a motherboard (voltage regulators, capacitors, filters, power) to heat stress and should not be covered with epoxy products. Sometimes fail DC jack solder and epoxy will do nothing to aggravate this problem, but if not impossible, the DC jack to get safely to fight.

All laptops with Jack problems can be repaired.

If your> Laptop is displaying symptoms or could not feed his grip on the symptom may be a different problem differently. For example, I get requests, giving the laptop battery will not charge. I also find the handset will not work when connected this means that the DC is working, but something else on the motherboard failed. Another example is sometimes when the laptop is out, I removed the motherboard has burned close to the pin voltage. This is a prettycommon event on the Gateway laptop and the replacement of the DC does not help. The entire board would need to be replaced in this case.

How to Downgrade your Laptop from Vista to XP

Now that you mentioned is the first application could be if you read the articles on this is: should someone Laptop XP downgrade from Vista is their wish? '"There are many reasons but the most common is the very speed and stability. Why Windows Vista faster than Vista on the same hardware. Even Windows Explorer crashes frequently in Vista than XP.

In this article we will see how to downgrade from Vista to XP in the simplest way. In fact there are some options to do, So we run through three of them here.

Option 1: Perform a Windows Recovery Console

One way to downgrade to XP is to implement a repair of Windows. Now, this approach is more convenient because you do not need to clean your hard drive.
The downside is that it is usually not as clean as the other option (Start From Scratch option below).

We try to have something to do:

Back up your entire hard disk.

The first and most importantto backup the entire hard drive in case something goes wrong with this process. If you have Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, there is a backup and restore of the PC you can use the tool. Also, make sure to leave several GB of free hard disk space on your startup disk after you run the backup.

A secure (and my preferred) way is to copy the data to an external hard drive. You can easily copy everything once XP is up and running. Make sure to back up the whole folder C: Users, their documents directly to your desktop files, as well as to incorporate data from applications such as e-mail.

Back up your entire hard disk.

The first and most important thing to do is make up your entire hard drive in case something goes wrong with this process.
If you have Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, there is a backup and restore of the PC you can use the tool.

Start with your Windows XP CD.

Place your XP CD into the optical Wnidowsand activate the laptop. You can then press the space key when the message "To boot from a CD to see any button .... Well, if you do not see this message, you need to go in portable BIOS setup screen and change startup options. The CD should appear first in the list of your hard drive boot order.

Open the Recovery Console.

After starting Windows XP installation, press R on the first page and open the Recovery Console. When prompted, select aWindows installation, type 1 and press Enter.

At this point you can ask the administrator password. There will be a bit 'difficult. If you do not know the administrator password, you can put:

* The boot in Windows Vista

* Open the Start menu, type and press Enter lusrmgr.msc

* Open the C: Users

* Double-click the Administrator account and disable the account option is disabled

* Open the Start menu again, typeControl userpasswords2 in the search box and press ENTER

* Click "Reset Password" button, choose a new password, and start again

This gives the administrator password and you should be able to proceed with the downgrade.

Prepare your hard disk for XP. Next, we return to the Recovery Console command prompt and type the following commands.

fixboot

fixmbr

cd

Ren window WinVista

Exit

Leave your laptop to restart, andStart the Windows XP CD again. Installing Windows XP starts normally.

Move documents. Once the installation of Windows XP is complete, you will have a functioning operating system Windows XP. However, you need to move some files manually. Users folder in XP: C: \ Documents and Settings "Most importantly, these would be the files on your desktop contents and all other data is redundant in C Vista, you must reinstall all applications and device drivers.Driver and eventually remove the abandoned C: WinVista.

And that's all ... If you followed this up by now, Windows Vista successfully downgrade to Windows XP, have without reformatting the hard drive.

Option 2: Start From Scratch

The second way to downgrade to XP is to start over. This method has the advantage of using a very "clean". This means that your laptop loaded with XP are not the remains of Vista, mixed. AllIt will also be in Windows XP.

Here's how I do it:

Back up your entire hard disk.

As before, the first step to backup the entire hard drive in case something goes wrong with this process.
Just copy the data to an external hard drive - you can still copy once XP is up and running.

To perform a clean install Windows XP.
The procedure here varies greatly depending on your laptop. Refer to your laptopfor details.
Generally, software for laptops, the extermination of the hard drive and a preinstalled version of Windows XP on the disk.
This image should be buying with all the drivers and demo software that allows a computer the first time I was with him.

When the installation is simply done the backup disk and copy them.

Option 3: dual-boot configuration

Now consider a third option. What if you have any questions essentialor device that simply does not work with Vista. You also do not want to downgrade to XP.
What are you doing here? One possibility is to do a dual boot. Be warned, however, this option is an advanced option, you should try an 'idea of dual-boot before it.

They are installing XP alongside Vista, so you need a second hard drive or a second partition on primary disk.

You should start to boot Windows XP installation CD, install theOperating system on the second hard drive.
Once you've done that - do not panic when Vista will not start. Just re-install Vista Boot Manager.
Boot from the Windows XP installation CD and click on the next boot.
In the Install Windows page, click Repair your computer.
You will be asked to choose between a Windows Vista laptop and XP every time your.

Conclusion

Right! I hope this article has given you an idea of what a downgradeWindows Vista to Windows XP. The downgrade is a really good sense if you have problems adjusting to Vista. However, you should also consider
new software is designed for Windows Vista. And the legacy support Windows XP will disappear very soon. In any case, if you feel you still need to downgrade, try one of the above options. I hope the work for you!

ASUS Eee PC 1000 Netbook vs. 10-inch Samsung NC10 Netbook 10.2 inch 14GBK

These two models are some of the best and most advanced netbooks on the market. They are both very similar in terms of the specifications and price, but there are certain characteristics that distinguish them from each other. Here is a brief comparison between the ASUS Eee PC 1000 Netbook 10 and the Samsung NC10 Netbook 14GBK 10.2 inches.

Price: The Asus model will cost around 380 $, while the Samsung netbook will cost about $ 410. Although the price difference is minimal, the priceaware of this can be found, give a determining factor in the choice between the two.

Winner: The ASUS Eee PC 1000 Netbook 10th

Design: The Asus netbook sports a robust and practical. It has a satin exterior and independently of the keyboard (like Apple keyboards), which looks good. Samsung model, on the other side has marked a high glass front with the Samsung logo in shiny silver font in the middle. Although they are about the sameSize, NC10 seems more because of its elegant design.

Winner: The Samsung NC10 Netbook 10.2 inch 14GBK.

Fact Sheet: The Samsung Netbook is powered by a 1.6 GHz processor, while the Eee 1.66GHz processor driven by a little faster. Both models to 1 GB of RAM, expandable to 2 GB, you have also run a 160 GB hard drive, but the Eee comes with an additional 10 GB of online storage. The Asus has an LED-backlit screen, while the NC10 as regular LCD screen.

Winner: TheASUS Eee PC 1000 Netbook 10th

Talk: Asus Netbooks great efforts to expand its autonomy. Thanks to its Super Hybrid Engine technology and energy-efficient LED screen, the Asus Eee last up to 9 hours on a single charge (in the energy saving mode). The Samsung NC10 is also very impressive with more than 8 hours use on a single charge.

Winner: The ASUS Eee PC 1000 Netbook 10 (there is a closeone).

Given that both models have very similar properties, there is very little reason to justify spending the extra 30 percent on the Samsung NC10 (unless you love the design). Although Asus is a relatively small company like Samsung is compared, Asus is, after all, the pioneer of netbooks.

Asus 1005HA Netbook Acer Aspire AS1410 Notebook 10.1 "11.6" vs

Features and specifications: wondering why we do. Maybe a comparison between a netbook and a laptop you after I get my hands on Acer Aspire AS1410-it, I can not help but notice that the size and price of the laptop more than a netbook. For this reason I decided to do a quick comparison with the Asus 1005HA Netbook, one of the best netbooks on the market.

Thanks to its slightly larger dimensions, the AS1410 is able, in a number of packagesMore details. The only thing the Asus netbook category would be able to win this too, is its impressive battery life of 10.5 hours. AS1410 laptop has an Intel Core 2, 2GB RAM and 250GB hard drive. The netbook Asus on the other has an Intel Atom, 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive. The Acer model also comes with an HDMI port and a 11.6-inch high-definition LED screen, while the Asus model has a smaller 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Winner:Acer Aspire AS1410 11.6-inch laptop.

Design: 1005HA Netbook measures approximately 10.31 x 7.01 x 1.44 inches, while tariff measures 1.2 to 11.2 x 8 x AS1410 Both models have a very elegant and distinctive design, but we will not choose a winner for this reason, because it is a subjective question. The model of netbook weighs 2.81 pounds, the notebook weighs only 3.1 pounds. Although it is beyond doubt, that the Asus netbook is the engine smaller and lighter, it isNote that the laptop AS1410 netbook is almost as handy as the model. Winner: Asus 1005HA netbook.

Price: This is another interesting category, AS1410 is a low cost laptop, the netbook will cost almost as much as a. Today is the Acer laptop unit costs only about $ 399 per. The 1005HA Asus, on the other hand, sells for about $ 359 each. Although the netbook is the cheapest machine, I must say that is the AS1410 Laptopmuch more value for your money. For only $ 40 more extra, you get a bigger hard drive, a bigger HD screen, faster processor, more RAM and a full size keyboard. That is what I call a bargain! But even here, some consumers value the portability and battery life incredible Asus 1005HA most everything else. Winner: Draw

How television watch on my PC or laptop

I wanted to watch TV on my PC and I did some research, and that's what I discovered. There are essentially two ways to do this. One way is to buy a PCTV device and the other is to use satellite TV software. I will go, what are the advantages and disadvantages of both.

Easy installation.

A PCTV device can come either in the form of PCI cards or USB device. Personally I prefer the USB version because I really do not like opening my PC and my ruin Table. In addition, the USB version for desktops and laptops are used, it makes more versatile.

To watch TV on my PC satellite TV software is even easier. Everything I need to do is download the software (I have to pay for it, of course) and install. Can I access to thousands of channels at once. No hardware or bulky son. My preferred choice.

Portability.

This is true whether you own a laptop. If I the television in front of myPC> PCTV device or laptop, then I have the TV wearing the device, wherever I live I'm going to enjoy this. During a satellite TV software, there is nothing to do except my laptop. Sweet. Moreover, minimized using the software, the chances of me losing the device.

Cost and value.

Why do I say cost and value is: you realize that some things that we buy last longer and give us much more satisfaction, but cost a bit more than others. In this case, thegives us the value of goods with a little more investment.

However, this is not really on the device and software are PCTV satellite TV. To watch TV on my PC to a device easily PCTV me another hundred dollars, while a good software, which includes over 3000 channels do not cost more than $ 50. The cost is less, but offers even more value. Interesting.

The beauty of these two solutions lies in the fact that investment is a user for a moment. You pay once andthis is be all you'll ever need. Much better than the monthly cable TV subscription basis if you ask me.

How to choose - Laptop vs Netbook

Share of the netbook PC market has grown rapidly in recent times. They are more common as a future replacement for laptops used to be seen to regularly use. However, there is an inherent confusion about exactly what a netbook is and how it is similar to a laptop. No doubt, both have their own advantages and shortcomings. To make life easier when choosing between two gadgets that we have listed below points to consider before you buy:

Size. WhatYou feel at first on netbooks is their size. Netbooks display is "usually 7 to 10 centimeters, so that laptops usually 14 inches. The netbook is so much smaller and lighter than laptops. They are so portable you can carry in a pocket purse or backpack.

Resolution. Most netbooks currently allow maximum screen resolution of 1024x600. Everything under not display the entire width of the web site to aTime. Thus, the user has to scroll back and forth to read a complete line of text. But most netbooks are usually 1024x600, which is for a comfortable browsing most websites enable ok.

Power. The small size makes them much more efficient use of energy netbooks. So you can use a netbook batteries for 5-6 hours without recharging the about 3 times longer than the average laptop. This feature provides for increased mobility with netbooksCategory "must-have items for long-distance travelers.

Performance. Of course, size is not the only difference between these two categories of gadgets. The lack of netbooks on the main specifications of the lower yield. Low speed of the hard drive, processor speed and video memory does not seem to value add to the appeal of netbooks. Why is any kind of job intensive treatment such as graphics, images or videos can not change would be as good as usualbe on laptops. Also play many video sites like YouTube can also dramatically slow down your netbook.

Keyboard. Another major complaint about netbooks is the size keyboards. If you have big fingers, you will notice that you have so much time to spend typing errors as you type correctly. Netbooks are typically small keyboards that are rather uncomfortable to type on crumpled so as to be unfit notes.

Optical drives, and connectivity. Netbooks typicallyno optical drives - not a CD or DVD. However, the connection of a central point for netbooks. All of them come with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a growing number now on board, so they are wirelessly connected to a 3G mobile phone to access the Internet on the go.

Price. And last but not apparently to check on the point, is the price. Netbooks cost between $ 200 - $ 500, depending on how you think and what you want to use it for. Theless laptops start at around $ 400. With a low-end netbook, available on the Internet, receive, type and edit documents and play games that run smoothly no large graphics. The high-end models offer more storage, more RAM and more features.
