Laptop Light

A laptop light is simply a light that helps you see when working on your computer at night. Of course, you can see the screen even in the dark, but an illumination can help with giving you better perception of the keyboard or the area around you. An additional lighting source can also help diversify and deaden the glowing beam a computer gives off.

When buying a computer light, there are several choices. First, you could opt for a traditional desktop lamp. This works great if you're typing away on a solid surface while sitting down but won't function if you are constantly working in different environments (ie plane, airport, bed, couch).

If you seek illumination that gives you the flexibility to be mobile, a laptop light is what you're after. Laptop lights typically come as pliable winding cords that you can bend and wrap around your notebook. Most users prefer to clamp them on to the top of the screen casing. Some newer models actually come with magnetic bases so that you can attach them firmly to your computer.

The power source now typically favors the USB plug in. This means your lighting's power source will derive from your computer battery. Of course this will cause you to use more power, but you can have your battery charging all the while. You can also get a wired notebook light should you not want to connect through the USB port.

When deciding which model to purchase, you should be cognizant of the size and color of the beam. Some laptop lights offer a sort of blue back lighting which is annoying and distracting to some users. Others have a centrally focused ray of light that doesn't adequately cover the desired area.
