Computer slow - How to run your laptop or PC is slowly stop

Having to deal with a slow running computer is something every computer user dreads going through. But the reality is that eventually, due to several different factors our computers will eventually slow down and we will try and figure out what we can to restore our PC's performance.

It may not be just one thing that is causing you a slow computer. It's common for there to be several different factors working together that actually causes your PC's performance to degrade over time. But one thing is common, once you really start noticing issues chances are it's going to take a total overhaul to get back the speed you once had.

Let's look at some of the most common reasons why your computer begins to slow down and then what you can do from your own home to get rid of the issue without having to rely on expensive tech support guys. The list includes:

#1 Low system resources.
#2 Overburdened and disorganized hard drive.
#3 Heat build up.
#4 Registry issues.

#1 Low system resources are actually caused by two different things, RAM and installed programs. Every time your computer boots up, there are small bits of information that these programs store in your RAM so that they are ready to run more quickly when you open them up. Sounds good right?

The problem comes into play when you have programs installed on your PC that you no longer use, but they continue using system resources in the background without your knowledge. Now uninstalling these programs or even turning off programs in the startup will give you some vital breathing room. The alternative is to purchase more RAM for your PC. But that would only be a temporary solution and eventually you would still have a slow running computer.

#2 Next we have the overburdened and disorganized hard drive. The truth is that after you reach a certain point and your hard drive begins to fill, it actually slows down the performance. This can be prevented by baking up your files that you do not always use on an external or possibly even internal storage device. Next uninstall programs that you no longer use, run a disk clean up and then defragment your hard drive.

You will likely be shocked how much space was used up by things like family photo's, old documents, temporary files from surfing the web etc. It's not unusual to recover 20 gigs or more. Then the defragmentation will organize everything so that all the associated files are in the same spot.

#3 Heat buildup can be deadly to your PC. Caused by the buildup of dust and hair inside the PC, unless kept clean and the air can properly move through the vents, the temperature inside can quickly climb to dangerous levels and start damaging the electronics housed inside. Keep your PC clear of dust to avoid a slow running computer.

#4 Registry problems. This is usually the most common silent killer on a computer, but because people are not familiar with it they will continue going on without fixing the issues till they have one crash too many and their PC no longer wants to boot up. The registry is so important because it is a road map of every file on your hard drive. When working well, it helps speed up your PC, but corruption or missing files can quickly build up and cause serious issues.

The remedy for the situation is to download a system and registry scanner. A good one will find registry errors and then fix them by deleting them and repairing them. If you want to avoid a slow running computer scan it now.
