Three Simple Tips to Keep Your New Laptop Last Longer

For many people, a laptop is no longer a luxury, but a way of life, and with laptops becoming more affordable and easier to carry around, they are more at risk of being damaged, so here are three easy tips to help your laptop last longer, and some advice on what to do if the worst should happen.

Invest in a Laptop Sleeve

Also known as a case or envelope, a laptop sleeve is a colourful and relatively inexpensive way to protect your laptop from any accidental damage when travelling. Lightweight, portable and tough, many laptop sleeves on the market are designed to fit any modelor make of laptop, such as an acer laptop. Also waterproof, and are made from a selection of hard wearing materials that are designed to protect you laptop from bumps, scrapes and scratches.

Keep it Clean

An important thing to consider before buying a laptop, is that it will get dirty relatively quickly, especially if you're going to be using it in public places, such as cafes and coffee shops. A dirty laptop can not only look unsightly, but can lead to problems if any spillages are not dealt with over time. Try not to eat or drink over the keyboard, as food and moisture will affect the keys, always check any case openings on the laptop, as dust and dirt could get in and stop air getting in and out the laptop computer, which will make it overheat.

Look After the Battery

While laptops are used often, laptop batteries are often misused, and many people find that as a consequence, their laptop's battery will run down quicker, and often need replacing sooner than the manufacturers intended. One way to counteract this is to charge your laptop battery fully, before taking it anywhere, do not try to charge the battery whilst the laptop is in use, this will only make the battery run down quicker, and weaken it in the long term. If you're taking your laptop somewhere, remember to carry your charger with you as a precaution, and only use it when the battery is running down.
