Laptop Optimization - How to restart the computer as a new

When your laptop is "optimized' it means that everything has been done to improve its performance. Perhaps you purchased your laptop computer not so long ago and it was running just fine, but now it seems like overnight it's going so much slower than before. This can drive you nuts, but what can you do?

Maintaining the performance of a computer is often overlooked by home users, yet it is vital to keep it running and performing well. Where to begin?

Eliminate any unwanted files, videos, emails, and photos from your computer. You can put your photos on a CD or DVD to keep for later but getting them off your computer is a really good idea. The same thing goes for your emails. I bet there are heaps that you won't look at again. Plus, how many of them have shared photos or cartoons that are still taking up valuable space? Don't forget to empty your trash!
Clean out the temporary files that your system has kept automatically. You may not be aware, but every time I visit, if you have a website or open a file, the computer keeps a copy on your hard disk. This can really slow down the system to get rid of them regularly.
When you start your computer, there are plans to open and operate are set. Not all of these are needed to get started. If you try unneeded programs at the same time, if you reboot the computer can do a lot of computer performance and can make the boot process very slow.
If youhave installed computer programs that you are not using any more, then uninstall them. Executable programs take up a lot of space so if they aren't needed, uninstall them.
After you have deleted your extra files, emails, photos and videos, and uninstalled unnecessary programs, you'll want to have your files reorganized so that your laptop computer will run faster. You do this by 'defragging' your hard drive. This process rearranges all the bits of programs that are scattered on your hard drive and moves them closer together making it easier for your computer to locate them. This frees up disc space and you should find that your laptop runs much better.
Major players with computers slowing down are viruses. Viruses can easily get into your computer so be sure you have a good anti-virus and anti-spyware program to prevent this from happening. Something to note here; only have one antivirus program running on your computer. Not all anti-virus programs are compatible with each other and this can cause problems as well.

By optimizing your laptop, you can really make it run like new!
